House of Cornelius
The House of Cornelius program is designed for homeless veterans. The main goal of our program is help homeless veterans become healthy self-sufficient, productive and contributing citizens. Our program consists of 4 units on average we have 8-10 veteran housed at a time. The veterans can live at House of Cornelius for up to 24 months.
Some of our veterans come from a lifestyle of unemployment, addiction and unmet medical and mental health needs that led to homelessness. While living at House of Cornelius the goal is to assist the veterans with rebuilding their lives. In the short time that the veterans are at House of Cornelius, they have a structured environment that consists of rules such as; curfews, housekeeping, and attending medical appointments. Case Management is a vital source in helping the veterans. Each veteran meets for case management 1 to 2 times a week this is when concerns and obstacles are addressed, resources are given and goals are made. The veterans are also connected with outside agencies such as the Veterans Service Office, Veterans Resource Office and Veterans Hospital.
